anyways, for my week. tuesday, we had our weekly district meeting, and we are going to instruct on all the lessons which i think will be really good! So this time was lesson one. I learned alot and hopefully i can apply some of that stuff to my teaching! so i thought it was funny how u knew this week was my 6 month. haha do u guys count down just like me? ;) thats awesome! ha So we then went and saw a new/old investigator, priscilla. (our 2nd counselors wife). She is new to us but has been taught by tons of missionaries so wish us luck! ha She is a very difficult woman especially cause she already knows everything, but it went ok i guess. We then met with aboagyewaa, and she is definitely ready to be baptized, its so crazy! We taught her some of the commandments. We then came home to a notice on our door. we assumed it was for our illegal power we've had for the past month and a half. to our surprise it was a notice for our garbage. ha apparently someone complained that we take too long to take it out or something. its just by our front door in the heart of the compund. So we were sentenced to appear in the town council the next day! haha of course we didnt go. we couldnt go three white guys, they would try to get a bunch of money from us. so we are just waiting for the cops to come show up at our door and haul us off to an african jail! haha im jk mom dont worry, i hope... ;)
On wednesday we had splits with our DL elder Larsen. I went with him to our area and my companion went to abuakwa. We had a sweet lesson with rhoda about the atonement and it went real good. We then went to kaders expecting to watch the testaments dvd with him, but he didnt have a dvd player. no worries though cause he just went on and on about how much he loves the church and all the people hes talking to about the church for 1 and a half hrs! haha we finally had to cut him off and leave. We also stopped by elizabeth's and had to talk to her about coming to church. her and godfred havent come for almost 2 months. idk what the problem is, godfred came this sun. oh and sorry for the questions... Kwabena is doing well, his fam is totally not willing to listen or come so thats unfortunate, but kwabena is strong. Hannah is doing good for all i know, she hasnt been to church for the last couple weeks so i havent talked to her for a while. no i didnt get to keep hatch's washer :( the ap's came to take it to the elder he promised it to. ill prob buy one soon though. Yes i seen elder riddle twice. no new mission news really, i should have more this coming week.
So on thursday our first appointment was with priscilla. it seems like we are slowly cracking the shell with her. most of her problem seems to be with her husband and lack of communication or concern there. i think that deep inside she really knows its true. we then had a lesson with one of our new investigators, uncle jo. Hes an awesome guy and has been taught by missionaries a long time ago, but he didnt keep his commitments. so far its going that way again. blah. We then had a lesson with kinsley (our pastor in training), we talked about baptism and the priesthood. he was way interested and we really have him thinking now. We also ate fufu at a chop bar and the piece of meat elder evbuomwam got was a goat mouth! haha there was no way he was going to eat it so i did of course! ya cant just waste food right?! haha it was uh... interesting. haha the jaw was still attached with the teeth and everything! i ate most of it, tongue and all! haha yum yum!
Friday we had splits with the zl's i went with elder nathan and elder smith and my companion returned home after their first lesson cause my companion was sick. Lucky for me i didnt have to be stuck in the apartment all day! ha we taught a lady who i felt like we should just talk to and say hi and when we got there she was like "ill go get my bible!" so we were like ok sweet. so we ended up having an awesome lesson with her while i helped her sister do laundry! ha it was sweet and hopefully shell be a solid investigator for them. We then saw a couple of their rc's. And finished the day off with eating fufu! Ah elder nathan is a crazy one. ha but hes always way happy so i wanna know his secret! ha
For saturday i had to stay home with my sick companion. it sucked, but it was nice to have a break i guess. haha idk if thats bad of me to say. I just ironed all my clothes, studied, excercised, and watched some church history dvd's. Sunday Rhoda was confirmed, and she got to church way early so that was cool to see that she cares that much! After church the zolls called and said they are coming with president and his wife for apartment checks and that they would be there in five min! we scrambled to clean up what we could. haha the zolls said they wanted to show them the worst apartment in the mission before they saw any other ones. I think well be getting a new apartment shortly. haha pres. and sis. holmes were both pretty shocked. haha especially sis. holmes. her exact words were, "well this is sure quite a humbling experience to see how u guys live." haha shes awesome and she cares so much about us! she even wanted us to come to the mission home so we could get out of that apartment. haha hopefully ill still be in asuoyeboa to enjoy the new apartment! ah ok well i guess its that time... :( talk to u next week. love u all so freakin dang much! dont ever forget about me here in ghana! ;)
love,
elder slade
