my family! my number one fan club! once again terrific to hear from u! most of u... sounds like u guys really started off the holidays with a bang! i think this last month will go by super fast on my mission as we have a couple christmas parties, leadership council, and of course christmas itself! glad u got to talk to elder crump. he said he went and saw our apt and its super nice! it'll be $230 a month for each of us. i have no idea how long my finances will last me or if ill be able to find a job in that little town. thats why i was asking if we had family there. it seems like we had a family reunion there or something. alot of stuff to think about. ha i cant believe mission is winding down. its so weird... i mean something u have dreamed of doing ur entire life and now ur doing it, then just like that.... its over. ha ah... its depressing but i guess life goes on to bigger and better things. ok so as for ur q's: as for a major just don't sign me up for one yet and ill decide when i'm there and have time to think. as for garments do i still have some at home? the crew neck? how many pairs? i was thinking i will by some here b4 i leave. they are 1 dollar for a pair. as for pants i wear a 34 waist 30 length, shirts are large and shoes are 11. the only thing i think ill need is shoes though... As for a dr's appt, i assume so. haha idk how it works.
any news about my homecoming talk? as for our inv's... its strange. i've never seen anything like it. we have 1 bapt date and 11 progressing and everytime we try to give one of those progressing a baptisimal date stuff just happens or they travel or something. we r finding new ppl though and i'm still getting the highest numbers i have my whole mission. we don't go to other ppls groups for church but the olsons do. they all have group leaders.
tues and wed were kinda lonely without crump but we were in a 3some with his comp elder seyoum and we had fun. he's new on mission so he was able to learn alot by being with the ZL's. haha We even split up at one point and i went with this member who just moved in who is a rm. he's way cool and we went to teach some ppl. hopefully he'll be able to help us alot. he is busy though and works at the hospital. We did find a new family though and we gave the husband a b date for 12/29! my last hope for a baptism b4 i come home... unless gladys or atta pull through. tonight we r going to see a LA family though that we just found. they went LA when they moved here and the church wasn't here. they r now going to another church so well see what happens.
Samuel finally said it though! he admitted the church is true! he knows it! now he's just too afraid to leave his church! the ghanain ppl are really timid and once they r in something they do NOT like to leave it. we talk alot about the fear of man as to god. We also taught so many crazy smart ppl! i'm done praying for smart ppl! the lord has answered that in abundance! haha It makes me see i need to learn and study more! It started with john our nigerian bro. we taught him the bom and how it was prophesied in the bible but he gave us a legitimate other interpretation of every scripture we used. We then taught a pastor from the US who nearly destroyed us! he literally knew the WHOLE bible! melch. levitical and aaronic priesthood, holy of holies and the rest! he was trying to tell us christ was the last high priest and the only one who could have the melch priesthood. Then we went to our inv steven who studied in leviticus and had some difficult questions about leavened bread and weird stuff. haha so that was a fun day! We also got the new missionaries in techiman! idk if i told u last week but we r now 12 here.
Thurs we committed one of our cool inv's vivian to baptism only to have her tell us she was moving soon so that was a slap to the face again... We got a new inv who is super nice and doesn't attend a church but she's not too serious yet... i know when she comes to church shell get serious. We also contacted a really smart guy who didn't go to church cause they were all corrupted so we were super excited about that but when we called him a couple days later and told him it was the missionaries he hung up and then barred our number so idk what he heard... We then had a thanksgiving dinner at the olsons which was delicious!
Fri was cool even though we didn't have alot of proselyting as we had weekly planning then a bapt interview then a group activity in the evening which was a riot! literally. haha we played jeopardy on gospel questions and everyone was going nuts. we had more ppl at that then we did at church sun. yay... William also continues to read the pamphlets and bom he's just involved in his church.
Sat we had alot of ppl at institute and sis vida cooked an amazing stew for us! We also had a great lesson with her on MW. she wants to go on a mission! We then met john our nigerian and taught the first half of the POS and he LOVED it! he even accepted the bom to learn more about the plan.
Sun church was a downer and it was mostly the missionaries bearing testimonies cause no one was there really. Sunday school went well as usual. We then visited and taught benedicta who has been struggling for no apparent reason. Found some new invs who seem cool and all in all we taught L1 ALOT! haha love it! well guys thanks again for everything!
love u!
-Elder Slade pray hard for me to finish strong!
